Biography
Xandra Plas is a PhD student at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre in Utrecht. Xandra obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences. During her studies, (elite)sport and data science got her special focus. After completing her studies, she has been working as sport data scientist for a year. According to her, soldiers are nothing more than elite athletes where mental health is of great importance to perform. Data plays an indispensable role for determining factors influencing mental health and performance.
Overview of projects within the BRAIC
In September 2022, Xandra started her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Elbert Geuze, Dr. Remko van Lutterveld en Dr. Bastiaan Bruinsma. With her research she wants to acquire more insight into depression within the army and risk factors influencing the development of depression in military personnel.
