Biography

Since February, Sophie has been working as a PhD student at the Expertise Center for Military Mental Health Care in Utrecht. With two master's degrees, first in Neuroscience at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and then in Neuropsychology at Utrecht University, she combines clinical expertise with scientific research.

In her PhD project, Sophie focuses on researching sleep disorders in soldiers. According to her, sleep problems are closely related to psychological complaints, and she reiterates the importance of more in-depth knowledge of this relationship. Sophie not only wants to understand the above sleep problems, but also wants to work on feasible practical solutions. By bridging scientific insights and practical interventions, she tries to bring concrete improvements into the daily lives of people dealing with sleep and psychological problems.
