Biography

Nadia Leen was a PhD student at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre. Nadia obtained her Research Master Neuroscience & Cognition at Utrecht University in 2018. Her master's thesis focused on individual trajectories and the associated differences between these trajectories in learning and unlearning anxiety. During her master she did an internship at the BRAIC, where she focused on the association between the personality trait psychopathy and resting-state functional connectivity in military personnel. After her internship, she also worked as a research assistant at the BRAIC.

In September 2019, Nadia started her PhD project at the BRAIC in collaboration with the University of Utrecht under the supervision of Dr. Elbert Geuze, Prof. Dr. Joke Baas and Dr. Antoin de Weijer. The aim of the project is to gain more insight into the role of the endocannabinoid system in symptoms related to stress, anxiety, sleep and aggression. The project is strongly in line with the desire to translate more fundamental research into applicable solutions for clinical practice.
